We invite you to go on this adventurous self-drive safari from Durban to Port Elizabeth explore this beautiful country independently. We provide you with your own rental car, book accommodation for you and suggest highlights to see on the way – but after all, it is up to you how you plan your day.

On arrival at King Shaka International Airport, please proceed to Avis Car Hire depot to collect your hired car, experience some of the many diverse pursuits and visit enchanting locations within easy reach or simply relax on the golden sandy beaches to soak up the African sun.

Moving further inland, we spend the next two nights in Northern Drakensberg, which is an aread known for its magnificent sceneray of towering mountains, indigenous forests and cool berg streams. At 3,482 meters in height, The Drakensberg, known in Zulu as uKhahlamba or the “Barrier of Spears”, is South Africa’s highest mountain range, stretching its rugged form roughly 1,000 km south-west to north-east. Time will be spent exploring this picturesque World Heritage Site.

Today you travel to Chintsa the quaint little seaside village, lies on the north shore of the rivier and just 45km north east of East London. This is a beautiful part of the world that has been described as a little piece of paradise with a wonderfully long stretch of beach and sand dunes.

Today, you have the rest of the day at leisure either partaking in optional activities or alternately spend the day at the beach soaking up the sun.

A benchmark conservation success, Addo Elephant National Park offers a unique wildlife habit, famous for the Addo elephants. Spend the afternoon on game drive in search of elephant, black rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard. The next day, continue with your search of African wildlife on an optional open vehicle game drive.

Today you will make your way to the “friendly” city of Port Elizabeth. The rest of the afternoon is yours to spend at leisure participating in optional activities or enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the beach.
